Narrative
The grief-stricken therapist begins to tell her clients exactly what she thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making big changes in people’s lives, including his own. The film "Shrinking" Season 1 shares the best moments that defined their characters and reveals who has the best Harrison Ford impression. When asked by Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence how they got Harrison Ford on board, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a "Harrison Ford type" and auditioned with people like Ford.
Eventually, Goldstein talked Ford into selling him the role
Segel told Goldstein that he should at least bring it to Ford, who he thought would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was being brought to the project, and that it would pique the interest of other notable actors. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince her, but was enthusiastic nonetheless. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023).
This is pure, simple fun
Sharply written, great lines, just enough confusion to keep it from being The Big Bang Theory for middle schoolers, and a joy to watch. Yes, real therapists don’t behave this way, but anyone with a working brain will know that this perspective is just a negative for calculating review ratings. Are some of the characters stereotypical?
A total revelation and a show to watch for himself
Yes, but no offense is given and no one should be taken, FYI, I worked with a gay man who was exactly the stereotype presented here. The real success here is in combining the seriousness of therapy and grief with the growing pains of life at different ages, stages, and lifestyles, and making it fun. Finally, who knew what a great light-hearted comedian Harrison Ford was?
