Mr. Sheridan knows how to take us into testosterone-fueled, macho worlds without clichés or apparent agendas. It is what it is.

Friends are simple

No need to apologize. His characters are always grounded and he is exceptionally good at casting. But to be great, you have to write good parts for the women. The writing should be as good, if not better, than the men’s. Women are smarter, more complex. Beth in Yellowstone (great character and performance), the barrel riders, the lone female hand on the ranch (a fantastic Jen Landon as Teeter) are great female characters who fit into the world of the story in a natural, forced way.

They are strong and compelling

Not just a ‘partner…’ or T&A. He stepped up his game with an excellent Faith Hill character who in "1883" followed by Dame Mirren in 1923 in Misfire. Now Zoe Saldana is doing the best work of her career. I’ll definitely buy him as the CIA chief in an open marriage (nice touch). I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with a burning rage who won’t give up and thank you, thank you, thank you to the writers/directors/producers for NOT LETTING her get the best of another fellow soldier. a hundred pounds of muscle.

Truth is paramount!

I think his character is more interesting if he’s someone who needs to be knocked out cold or just dominated on the ground until he gives up. Now, shall we talk about Jill Wagner, or should I say her hair? What a face! From dirty Hallmark to super-badass special forces? I’ll buy it. Special mention: Mrs.

Good actor, could be interesting

Lanier as the ugly teenage daughter. I’m looking forward to the arc that dictates this loose canon, as long as they avoid the clichés of teenage angst.
